CREDIT CONTROL CLERKS(2 POSTS)


SALARY:1st Notch of Post Level C1(R218 823.46 TO R252 391.90)per annum

(Fringe Benefits: Include inter alia, 13th cheque, pension fund, medical aid scheme, housing allowances).

REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must have a Diploma/B Degree in Finance,1 – 2 years relevant experience, Knowledge of Local Government Legislations and By-laws, computer literacy, a valid driver’s licence with be an added requirement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

  • Keeping track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts
  • Planning course of action to recover outstanding payments
  • Locating and contacting debtors to inquire of their payment status
  • Negotiating payoff deadlines or payment plans
  • Handling questions or complaints
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Creating trust relationships with debtors when possible to avoid future issues
  • Updating account status and database regularly
  • Alerting superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary
  • Complying with requirements when legal action is unavoidable

$1·Identifying defaulting customers and dispatching notices to these customers in terms of approved policies and procedures.

Contacting and assisting delinquent account consumers in person, reviewing terms of payment and/or negotiating a credit agreement with consumer, capturing the arrangement form on system.

  1. Preparing a list of defaulting debtors to be impaired monthly and at year-end by analyzing the individual debtor’s history. submitting this with reasons for each debtor to be impaired to Manager Revenue.
