METER READERS (8 POSTS)

uMzinyathi District Municipality an equal opportunity employer, with its head office based in Dundee, hereby invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the following position: METER READERS (8 POSTS) SALARY :1st Notch of Post Level A3 (R 97 419.48 to R 113 315.46) per annum (Fringe Benefits: Include inter alia, 13th cheque, pension fund, medical aid scheme, housing allowances). REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must have a minimum of Grade 10, 1 year meter reading experience, computer literacy, a valid driver’s licence with be an added requirement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES • Rendering a water meter reading duty to ensure that water meters are read in time. • Executing duties with relevant tools and work according to route list, • Ensuring the correct reading for each consumer and assisting with reading enquiries from the public, • Reporting damages on broken meter boxes, • Capturing meter readings correctly on hand terminal and executing previous day’s default list, • Delivering all returned mails to customers, • Reporting leaking meters in area of operation, • Inspecting meters, and connections for defects, damaged unauthorized connections to protect organizational interest • Moving debris, dirt or other materials from around the meter boxes and cleans out flooded and buried meters to enable accurate meter readings Written applications together with a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae and certified copies of qualifications, driver’s licence and identity document must be forwarded to: The Human Resources Manager Mr GS Vilakazi Umzinyathi District Municipality PO Box 1965 DUNDEE 3000 The closing date for applications will be 23rd March 2018 at 15h00.
