ASSISTANT PROCESS CONTROLLER

Salary:Post level B1 (R135 234.18 - R160 748.30) per annum

(Fringe Benefits: Include inter alia, 13th cheque, pension fund, medical aid scheme, housing allowances.)

REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must have a Grade 12 and NQF Level 2 Certificate in Water and Waste Water Treatment Process will be added advantage. At least 1 - 2 years related experience or general worker experience in a similar environment, basic understanding of water purification process and must be fluency in IsiZulu and English,

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

·Provide assistance with operating and controlling of electric motors, pumps and valve to regulate flow of raw water into and from treatment plant.

·Fills storage bins with lime that admits specified amounts into tanks to disinfect, deodorize, and clarity water.

·Operates valves to regulate water through floc channels and filter beds to remove impurities.

·Pumps purified water into water mains for supply to consumers

·Monitors panel board and adjust controls to regulate flow rates, loss of head pressure and water elevation, and distribution of water.

·Cleans sedimentation and flotation assists with cleaning of filter beds and flock channels as prescribed, using backwashing (reverse flow of water and air) to remove impurities.

·Takes water samples and furnishes to laboratory for testing.

·Checks dosing equipment to ascertain proper function,

·Checks for sufficient flocculation and cleanness of water in sedimentation tanks

·Cleans and tidies plants and plant offices.

·Cleaning of dosing equipment and chemical handling areas.

·Assist in off loading equipment and chemical areas.

·Apply sound housekeeping at all times by cleaning work area, tools and equipment to ensure a clean working premise.

·Report all defects or problematic issue to supervisor and assist to correct where required

·Adherence to quality and quantity of work performed and safety policies and procedure on a daily basis
