FIRE FIGHTERS (2 POST)

FIRE FIGHTERS

(2 POST)

SALARY:First Notch Post level B3 (R 192 953.99 to R225 855.40) per annum,

Fringe Benefits:Include inter alia, 13th cheque, pension fund, medical aid scheme, housing allowances.

REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must have Matric/Grade 12. 1-2 year’s experience based on fire rescue and operations. Certificate in Fire Rescue and Operations NQF Level 4, Certificate in Fire Fighter 1, Hazmat Awareness, Basic Ambulance Assistant /First Aid 3 will be an added advantage. Must have a valid driver’s license (Code14).

KEY PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

·Responding to emergency cases (mainly fires, but also can be medical problems, etc) and aid when required.

·Ensure that Fire Safety inspections on all business premises, are conducted, recorded and continuity is maintained.

·Reducing fire damage with the help of own equipment and by making sure it’s in the right working order.

·Keeping station and equipment in great condition and providing regular maintenance, inspection and repairs.

·Participating in public educational activities within the District on preventing fires.

·Acquiring more professional knowledge and skills by taking part in trainings, workshops, self-education.

·Updating records of equipment inspection or repair and other accountable aspects of fire department’s day to day job.

·Following safety working policies and reporting needed changes or unsafe activities and conditions.

·Provide monthly, quarterly and yearly reports of all incidents attended.

·Submitting operational reports, fire safety reports, training reports, administrative activity reports.

·Ensure that all premises manufacturing, handling or storing flammable liquids or substances are registered.
