REFERENCE NO: 001/2019

SALARY: 1st Notch of Post Level D:341.44 TO R340 554.57) per annum

(Fringe Benefits: Include inter alia, 13th cheque, pension fund, medical aid scheme, housing allowances, cell phone allowance).

REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must have a Matric (Grade 12), National Diploma in Environmental Health or Equivalent qualifications,Current registration as an Environmental Health Practitioner with the HPCSA, Minimum of One (1) Year community service as Environmental Health Practitioner, Knowledge of Local Government Acts, Computer literacy, fluency in IsiZulu and English and a Drivers license.


Inspect, evaluate, identify, monitor and remedy all environmental health hazards and risks within UMzinyathi District Municipality.

Monitor and control Environmental Pollution (Air, water. noise and Land).

Inspect all waste generators and institute proper control measures.

Monitor informal and formal food premises and other Public premises.

Investigate and control communicable diseases.

Create community awareness and conduct Health education to community on matters related to Environmental Health.

Perform administration duties by collecting data, submit monthly, quarterly and annually reports.

Provide law enforcement by implementing relevant National and Provincial legislations, Municipal by- laws and policies.

Create community awareness on matters related to Environmental Health.
