REMUNERATION                       :           R992 705.00 – R1 195 857.00 Annual total remuneration package). As per Government Notice 380 of 1 July 2016.

Requirements: Bachelor degree in Social Sciences/Public Administration/Law NQF level 7 or equivalent qualification. Minimum of seven (7) years at senior management and middle management levels of which at least two years must be at senior management level. Compliance with the minimum competency requirements as legislated in Government Gazette No 29967 issued on 15 June 2007. The required core competency as stipulated in Annexure A and B of the Regulations on Appointment and Conditions of Employment of Senior Managers Government Notice 21 in Government Gazette 37245 dated 17 January 2014. Valid code B driver’s license. Added advantage: advance understanding of institutional governance systems and performance management. Must have extensive knowledge of the public office environment. Strong leadership skills. Good knowledge of Supply Chain Management Regulations and Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, 2000. Advance understanding of council operations and delegation of powers.

Key responsibilities:

·        • Ensure the achievement of the Municipality’s mission and vision. • Establish and implement strategies for social and cultural development to the Municipal Manager. • Management of special programmes, disaster management, and environmental management in the district. • Prepare and submit reports on the activities of the Department to the municipal structures and council. • Facilitate and coordinate the functioning of war room within the district. • Oversee and coordinate the establishment of relevant community structures to deal with issues of elderly, disability, women and youth • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies relevant to operations of the Department. • Ensure the effective management and safe keeping of municipal assets and other resources. • Ensure capacitation of staff and ethical conduct of personnel under the Department. • Establish and implement the annual budget for the Department including managing the Poverty Alleviation Programme • Attend and participate in all management meetings and other meetings organised by external development partners
