OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER

(1 POST)

SALARY:1st Notch of Post Level E1 (R505 114.14) per annum

(Fringe Benefits: Include inter alia, 13th cheque, pension fund, medical aid scheme, housing allowances).

REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent must have Matric Degree /National Diploma in Civil Engineering.Or Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of Technical Services, computer literate, fluency in IsiZulu and English and have your own car.

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge of uMzinyathi District Municipality and its Service Delivery Plan

Experience with operations and maintenance at the Middle Management Level

Good people skills and the ability to work under pressure

Prepared to work on standby and afterhours is a key requirement

Good communication skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

ØEnsuring that water and sanitation provision function is implemented year round.

ØManaging superintendents and their subordinates to achieve service delivery objectives on a daily basis.

ØCoordinating interventions with the Technical and Financial Departments on planned projects to support service delivery.

ØEnsuring that the water service provision function meets all legislative and regulatory requirements.

ØImplementing contingency plans to deal with emergency provision of water and sanitation.

ØDeveloping, managing and controlling the operating budget.

Ødentifying skills and capacity constraints and prepare a human resourcing plan

ØDeveloping and implementing a maintenance and asset management budget and plan

ØImplementing an emergency projects to meet challenges.
